About the meals
When I was a little girl----maybe all mothers are fond of talking about their children’s funny childhood----I needed only a little sauce and a bowl of rice in a meal. That is to say, without any dishes. And when I got older, I liked two or three big bowls of rice mixed with lite soup of vegetable.
Parents are really great, while children don’t always read their mind.
Knowing me as a guy who was very picky in meals, my parents always wanted to satisfy my taste. There was a period when I liked eating bones-rich parts of chook, such as the neck and the claws. One day after I had seen the disgusting neck or claws of the chicken for several days, I burst out shouting to my father, “How come you always let us eat this?” Papa replied, “Don’t you like this? You liked it!”
Yes, I liked it in the past, but I had changed the taste. However, Papa couldn’t be a worm in my stomach; he didn’t know my change in taste. His goodwill had got a bad reaction.
Now I would eat almost all kinds of vegetables and meat, comparing with rarely any in the past. Every time Papa asked me what I would like to eat, I replied,“ It is up to you! Whatever you choose is Ok to me. ”So it is much easier for my parents to prepare food for me---- Last weekend, they asked my sister who has been home for a week to bring me wax gourd soup. Mama proudly said, “(I know) she likes wax gourd.” Frankly speaking, the wax gourd soup brought to me was a little sour, not as delicious as I expected.
Since I no longer eat rice only, time spent in a meal increases largely. As is estimated, 3-5 minutes would be used in the past while about 15 minutes be used now.
Too long for me! …
I feel like a simple meal as I used to have, as well as a simple mind in the past.

i am glad to see this article by chance surfing online.comparing with your english,i have a long way to go.
i am not a picky guy who pick food,clothes,excepting for the gf,in some aspects of your above-mention in your reply.i wish someday i could be able to be a"pickier''.

| every person had his own childhood ,which was common and unusual,poor and rich, boring and colorful,sunny and darkless...i have read ur strory ,it reminded me of my childhood.i was really picky about my meals,i did not eat any food with sweet taste,and food made of flour...i just liked eating rice.when my mama cooked meals without food i liked ,i would eat nothing ,,,and my parents were busy with their abundant farming work,and not enough time to find out if i ate enough ,,,so i just grew shorly ,,,,and i have never complained my mama ,i knew my mama ,she was really responsible for the big family...thanks for ur nice article! 以下为blog主人的回复：

hi miss,
your words make me miss my parents. making me turn my memory back to the time i was a child. remembering up how my parents took care of me. now the lunar new year is coming, i havn't seen my parents almost the whole year. i can't wait to go see them. i don't know if you have ever had the experience, that you could only see your parent one time every year as you work and live in another city?
my parents are getting old when i'm growing up. they took care of me when i was young. i must take care of them well when they get old, i told myself when i left home.
